City State Of The Invincible Overlord

I Don't Know What to do Anymore........

(Jal goes off, away from the rest of the group, sits in front of a tree, sits down and starts jabbering on in druidic) Why…....it was reckless…....it was impulsive and…....and…....IT WASN’T RIGHT! WE KILLED AN INNOCENT FAMILY! I’M ON THE VERGE OF A MENTAL BR….....what’s the use. It’s not my fault…..yeah,yeah that’s it…....it was that….that BASTARD,yeah it was his fault.I was only defending myself,i had no choice. And he ran off like a coward,it was his fault….......even with over 5 centuries living in this world,i’ve never felt so much sorrow for my actions, then again i’ve never slain a family….....why didn’t the paladin go with us,he would of stopped all of this,he would of stopped this.I’ll hunt him down,i must capture him,but i won’t kill him.I’ll….....i know what i’ll do,i strand him out in the forest, alone, but i’ll be watching him.I’ll make sure he stays in solitude, fending for himself.I would love to see him struggle on his own….........fearful of every sound and shadow. An arrogant thug like him will go crazy…...it’s fitting for someone who just uses people and throws them away.If there is one thing i’ve learned in all my years is you are your own worst enemy. He will probably kill himself he will get so insane.I should of said something to defuse the situation, this is as much my fault as anyone elses….......i never figured adventuring was so mentally trying as it is physically trying.

Were we go Odin Smiles... If ya know what I mean.

Another goes to join Odin in his hall today, a friend and comrade has died today. After our battle in the tomb with the skeletons, we ran into some vile undead being that would not pass into the netherealm. We had almost lost our lives but we retreated back to City-State where we stocked up on supplies and met up with Thougar StoneBreaker. After I told him we had been hunting Purple Claw Orcs in the forest, he told us he was going back to Jerimon the white’s farm to retreave his brother but that they wanted to join us in slaying the monsters. When they got back we finally headed out to the forest in search of more beasts, we decided to lay siege to the frontmost outpost that one of our orc prisoners had marked on our map, but what we found was something none of us were expecting.

We halted our march and proceded to make a plan for the siege while our elven scout went ahead to… well scout out the place. As he approached he saw not orcs but human, a family of human tending to a farm, he then greeted them to find out what they were doing here and WIP

PS...

Still pissed about not getting that poison from that carrion crawler. Why the heck didn’t anyone think of bringing them with us on the cart, i’m sure they would have fetched for a far price. I would have told them if i wasn’t paralized. Oh and those dicks don’t realize that I was paralized not brain dead I can still hear. To think that they wanted to leave me behind when I didn’t do anything wrong, jerks. Back to the poison, tried asking indirectly around town trying not to bring attention to the types of deeds I do even though this town seems shady. I make a mistake and bring the necromancer with me and right of the bat the moron blows my cover. Later I find an alchemist with no luck on poisons but now I have a list of stuff he wants. Hopefully i’ll have better luck next time i’m in town.

Dear Journal....

Today we went back into a crypt of some old elf thing that we passed by earlier in the week. We go in and the first thing we do is go and bust up some skeletons while the elf druid goes and feels up some statues. The tomb they were at was empty which sucks. Next we go down this other passage and find a tomb with old elf writing seems intresting cuz nobody can read it. As i’m jotting it down the guys in front start fighting some zombie thing. Finally the kill it but seconds later it gets up. This thing drops Beronar so I go in and drag him out as the others take it on. They kill it again but again it gets up and this time a strange sense of doom overwhelms me so I book it. Later I come to my senses in the forest and see Beronar running toward me in the same sort of hystarical state I was in moments before. So thinking it funnier to trip him to get him to stop a take out my ten foot pole. Little do I realize that he is running straight toward a tree,(who runs toward a tree). Next thing I know I trip him and he face plants pretty bad into the tree. He comes to and is pissed. So as we’re walking back to camp he’s all yelling and grumpy. Then we get back to camp and find the wizard trying to steal Beronars horse and cart as the gay druid is freaking out crying about how the group is expolding or something and how everyone is going to start killing each other. Thats pretty much it now we’re sitting at camp tending to are wounds, Beronars all grumpy sitting in his cart. Now we’re waiting to go back to town in the morning.

Some More Thoughts...

Are bard has died in battle today for his wounds where to deep no matter how hard we tried. I prefer for people to not have to suffer so, a quick death is a better one if you ask me. The group thinks I am a cruel and evil person because I kill for money. Be that as it may I am not all evil I dont do evil things for kicks. Sure I’ll go into an “evil” temple or what not but not so I can praise some demon, I did it for the paladin who was curious yet he still treats me as if I cast down small children and puppies if they look at me wrong. Who is crueler, me for wanting to kill the orc after getting what I thiought was all the information right away. Or making him suffer dragging him around for days on end making him watch us kill his orc bretheren in front of him all the while knowing that his time is up as soon as he has no more information. He knows we want his head he walks behind the other heads all day. Some of them think that they can’t trust me but when have I shown them that they couldn’t. These goodie goods have to get of there dam high horse and open there eyes. The only truely endangering person in are group is that necromancer that cares not if we live or die and will run or betray us at a moments notice. To sum it up yes if killing for money makes me evil then call me evil but really i dont give a shit what anyone thinks and i’ll do what I want. The exceptions are that law,(can get around that), and the group comes first. Last note… aren’t the rest of my so called party filled with “good” souls killing for money, or do orcs not count as people.

The mighty orc hunters part 1

The next day the party ventures out into the city seeking equipment and a cart for the trek into the Dearthwood Forest. They get most of the equipment then head for the Horse trader where bern purchases a cart and a pack mule ( Jal Woodwalker loan 10 gp and wanted to name the mule). Frogar Tunk and Jal Woodwalker ask the trade to train them on how to drive the cart. The cart handling comes naturally to Frogar Tunk but jal even thou he is a druid he requires extra training from the the trader (maybe it was because he spoke to the mule and told it that it’s name was going to be Murphy.). They return to theGreen Goblin for the night to get rested up before heading out. In the morning they pick up the cart and head out the gate toward the Redoubt of the Dead then east into Dearthwood Forest. Around midday the party run into a group of orcs. Attlian cast a spell causing all but the commanding orc to fall the ground asleep. The commanding orc kicks the orcs beside him to wake them up then rushes forward meet the bard and steps on two more orcs trying to wake them. Crovian rushes up to swing at one and is struck down in a single blow. The bard trades blows with the command misesanding orc, Attlian rushes into fight and is meet with strike from a longsword dropping him to the ground. The rest of party kills the sleeping orcs, after that Beronar Odinson kills another orc coming for him. The commanding orc see this and strikes down thebard and rushes towards Beronar Odinson. Beronar Odinson looks at the commanding orc and says in orc “die” , the commanding orc convulses and falls to the ground. Beronar Odinson smirks and stabs him and kills the orc. At the same time Frogar Tunkand Jal Woodwalker before strike down and orc leaving one which drops his weapons and surrenders to them. Frogar Tunk takes a swing at the orc and says “what’s surrender “. Jal Woodwalker tries to block the swing but misses. The orc falls dead from the strike from Frogar Tunk. The party searches the orcs and cut their heads off and put them in the large sack and throws them on cart with the bard and attlian and head north for about couple hours and makes camp. While setting up camp several of the party notice a figure watching them from the forest. corvian moves to the woods away from the figure and collects fire wood. Frogar Tunk ,Jal Woodwalker and Beronar Odinson discuss if it would be a bear would do and if fire would keep it away. Frogar Tunk tells them the bear is here because he is after the orc heads and he is going to hang them up in the tree. Frogar Tunk throws the grappling hook the into the tree then ties the other end to the bag an pulls up into the tree then ties it to the tree. corvian comes back and begins to build a campfire . The creature begins move closer and they can see that it’s a bear and he’s watching crovian. crovian goes the light the campfire ,the bear comes running into the camp and stomps the campfire before corvian could light lit it and says to corvian ”NO!” [crovian]] fall back on the ground shocked. Jal Woodwalker and Frogar Tunk ,Beronar Odinson back away and ready themselves. The bear backs up and speaks them” Don’t light fire , you’ll bring more orcs if do and by the looks of your party you can’t handle them right now. You can call me Berro Heartsong Justicar Of Pholtus”. The party ask a few questions about him and his answers are vague or not at all. The party asks about the orcs and the manor house out here in Dearthwood Forest. Berro Heartsong Justicar Of Pholtus tells them that lies futher to east. The party begins to setup watches for the night. During the night a small band of orcs approaches the watch sees them coming and wake the rest of the party along with Berro Heartsong Justicar Of Pholtus. Berro Heartsong Justicar Of Pholtus gets up and the orcs see this and stop then he moves toward the and they flee. Berro Heartsong Justicar Of Pholtus stays up for last until the orcs are gone.

Just Some Thoughts...

I really hope none of my companions dies of stupidity for I have seen it often plagueing adventures who believe themselves to be special or “more than human”. Some of them believe that they can take on an orc let alone two by themselves without a plan and survive to tell the tale. Many come to me and ask me to steal or do extrodinary things thinking that I am a master thief or something, but im not i am but a poorly skilled assasin I am no where near powerful. I would like some of my companions to be a little smarter but that does not mean they are all bad. The druid has a way to talk with nature which has come in handy with are past dealings so far. The half orc seems to be a powerful brute but is also smart when it comes to forming plans. The bard has climbed a tree…. well i’ll leave it at that. The magic user has produced some fine spells but seems to not fully understand there uses or stratagies. The necromancer is… I dont really remember what he has done… or is it a she? The cleric is very useful when he is around us for the weak and the dumb seem to be getting hurt all the time, hence why i am upset with all this smash before thinking. Then we have the ranger. He seems very strange, almost like he is bi-polar. At first he seems like he does not care what his actions do then turns around and helps people, then turns around and trys to use a goblin as somesort of slave. Lastly we have the kensi or whatever he is I am still not sure what he is but he seems like he wants to fight something and kill it but I cant wait till the day he goes running into a battle and kills himself all because he thinks he is some almighty warrior. Strange is this band of misfits that I am apart of but in time I hope we form a group worthy of adventuring even if that means that I have to weed out the dumb ones myself… well that is if they dont kill themselves first.

A job well done?

The party sets out for the stream to make sure there are no trees lying across the stream. They reach the stream to find several trees lying across stream. The party goes over Red Axe Inn. Beronar Odinson goes over to Thajzi the orc-slayer. Thajzi the orc-slayer asks Beronar Odinson if he is a priest of odin. Beronar Odinson answers yes and shows him the holy symbol of odin. Thajzi the orc-slayer says to him “I will give 2 sp per head of an orc. There are Orcs of the purple claw outside of CITY STATE they killed my family”. Beronar Odinson says that he will accept his proposal then leaves to get equipment. These people are a little strange.....

I hate being a druid when everyone always has something to say about burning down a forest or some such nonsense.I ignore it and act like I don’t care, but it really angers me.I know none of them will actually burn a forest down and what not but I would rather they not say it,it bothers me.Karma help me hold my temper,I may loose it one day.We finally restored balance to a forest a few days ago,I was extremely glad we had,I don’t know if balance will stay though. It seems as though it was only a temporary fix to the growing problem, but if it does become a problem again,Jerimon will send for us.That ranger in our party seems to be a little strange as well.He has a good heart but I have feeling he has his hand in shady dealings, but that doesn’t concern me as of now.He also took it upon himself to take one of his goblin friends from the forest we had been in and wants to take him around with us.It seems a little strange, but he has good intentions for the goblin, and hey, maybe with some training from all of us within the party he may become a competent adventurer himself. That is saying of course that everyone in our adventuring company is competent.I find people like the wizards and the bard to be particularly useless. Those mouth-breathers don’t do anything except get free gold.Except for the one that casts some strange arcane spell that seems to put creatures into a magical slumber for maybe a minute. But there are others, like the clerics of Odin, that are useful but annoying. They’re the ones that keep talking about burning forests down,so you know what I do,I do anything nature related to annoy them. For instance, one of the clerics,a half-orc,was cutting down trees,so I told him I had to hug each tree before he does anything to them. It’s nonsense!Trees do not necessarily need hugs useless of course they ask for one,in which case I would do it happily. It is really funny to hear what they say when I hug a tree,it bothers them a lot.We also have had new addition to our group, paladin, maybe he will straighten up the party a little. But at times I think he comes on a little to seriously when addressing the party, but I guess that is part of being a paladin, but I don’t know to much about them in the first place.Whatever, time to rest for tomorrow.

Zeke the goblin

After eating in the morning corvian starts to get the party going to head back to the ant hill. Thougar StoneBreaker yells at the party ” who put you in charge! who gave you a job! who is paying you! I AM! so you are going to do what I tell you to do. we are payed to protect the worker and the estate. So today go out and watch over the workers and make sure no ants attck them. I’ll be back later to check on you and to bring you in for lunch.” The party heads out to where the workers are at filling buckets and carrying them to large barrels. The party spends much of the day watching the workers with no ant attacks. During this time Lloyd Skytear takes intrest in three small cloaked figures working in the area. To his surprise they are 3 goblins (greb, neb, zeke). Zeke talks to Lloyd Skytearand gets him to help him with his buckets. through out the day Lloyd Skytear and zeke the goblin and neb talk about what goes on, greb dislikes what Lloyd Skytear is doing and hates the bard’s singing. at the end of the day everyone returns to the bunkhouse for the night. The next day Thougar StoneBreaker comes in and tells the party that thet are going back to the eastside of estate to work. This is where most of the attacks have taken place. The party needs to go out past the workers and look for ants and stop them before they get to workers. So the party heads out but Lloyd Skytear decides to stay back with the workers and Nosgar Stonebreaker. While the party is out moving thru the woods come across some ants. Jal Woodwalker uses speak with animals and try to converse with the ants, they respond to him with “leave us get away” so party backs away and watch them. The ants get what they need from the tree and leave. The party decides go back and check on the workers. During this time another group of ants come in where the workers the are and began to swarm a tree where a worker is get syrup from a tree. Lloyd Skytear move to protect the goblins, most of the human workers flee leaving the the other worker to fend for himself. Nosgar Stonebreaker rushes to attack one of the ants, during this Lloyd Skytear rescues the worker and pulls back Nosgar Stonebreaker in a berserk rage to a better position to fight the ants. The rest of the party shows up to help and finish killing the rest of ants. After the fight the party returns to the bunkhouse.Lloyd Skytear goes up to Jerimon the white house. He is let in to see Jerimon the white. Jerimon the white is talking to the worker who was saved by Lloyd Skytear. Jerimon the white offers Lloyd Skytear a bag of gold for saving the worker. Lloyd Skytear questions Jerimon the white on the area around estate and what he wants them to do about the ants. Jerimon the white tells Lloyd Skytear that he wants them to stop the ants from attacking the estate and his workers. Jerimon the white gives Lloyd Skytear a map of the estate and the local aera. Lloyd Skytear returns to the bunkhouse and tells the party about the map and what Jerimon the white said to him.
